Le Grandi Voci Del Sesto Senso is a lyric concert that bringsto scene Made in Sicily’s best, from the performers to the orchestra. The artists that will charm the scene of the Sesto Senso Opera Festival’s stage, are famous in the world’s best theaters.
Here are the names: the tenor Marcello Giordani, the soprano Desirèe Rancatore, the baritone Nicola Alaimo, and the soprano Daniela Schillaci. During the concert will be performed arias of the opera repertoire and duets taken from works of Donizzetti, Verdi, Puccini, Bellini, Gounod and many others.
The Medisonus orchestra will accompany the srtists on the stage fo the wonderful ancient theatre of Taormina. The medisonus orchestra is a singular musical ensemble formed by Maestro Peppe Vessicchio exclusively for the Sesto Senso Opera Festival and will play the notes of Natural-Harmonic Music.
The orchestra, composed by many talented elements it’s suitable for both classical and modern perfomances and will be conducted by Maestro Antonino Manuli.
Maestro Manuli graduated at the conservatoire of Messina and obtained his diploma in orchestral conducts at the Pescara Musical Academy. He directed also Cluj’s, Arad’s and George Erescu’s philarmonics, the symphony orchestra at the University of Nuevo Leon in Mexico, the Abruzzo symphony orchestra, the Eaoss, the orchestra Cantinelli. In 2003 he directed some replica’s of La Bohéme on Catania’s Teatro Massimo Bellini’s tour in japan.

M° Marcello Giordani, born in Augusta in Sicily, begins his career in the best of ways: in 1986 wins the Concorso di Canto di Spoleto and in the same yeat he debuts in Rigoletto at the Festival of Spoleto. Follows his debut in the United States a few years later, precisely at the Portland Opera in the role of Nadir in Le Pe^cheurs de Perles. At the Teatro Alla Scala of Milan, instead, he debuted as Rodolfo in La Bhoéme in 1988 and at the Metropolitan Opera of New York as Nemorino in L’elisir D’Amore in 1993. Maestro Marcello Giordani, thanks to his eclecticism was able to interpret many roles, even different from eachother, ranging from the Bel-Canto of Bellini, Donizzetti and Rossini to the lyricism of the French repertoire, up to the Italian opera’s of Puccini and Verdi. More recently, however, he appeared in the most representative works of the Italian Verism: Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci.
The soprano Desirèe Rancatore, born in Palermo, debuts very young, at the age of 19, in the role of Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Festival of Salzburg. Among the several awards of her career are included the Premio Speciale Ester Mazzoleni, the Medaglia d’Oro Città di Milano, the Premio Zanatello for the best interpreter of the 2008 season in the festival Arena di Verona,La Mimosa d’Oro Internazionale of Agrigento and the Oscar Of the Opera of the Fondazione Arena di Verona as the most popular soprano.
Follows the baritone Nicola Alaimo. He too was born in Palermo, city in wich he conducts his musical studies. Wins the Concorso Giuseppe Di Stefano of Trapani, debuting in the role of Dandini in La Cenerentola of Rossini, the same role that marks his debut at the Festival of San Sebastian. He attends the Rossini Academy in Pesaro debuting in the role of Raimbaud in Conte Ory. In 2016 he was awarded with the prestigious Premio Abbiati. Among his latest commitments: Rigoletto at the Opera of Marseille directed by Paolo Arrivabeni; Don Quichotte in the role of Sancho Panza at the Opera of Chicago. He will return at the Metropolitan Opera of New York for L’Italiana in Algeri and other important productions such as Le Grandi Voci Del Sesto Senso at the Ancient Theater of Taormina.
In conclusion, let’s get to know soprano Daniela Schillaci: she graduates with full marks in 1998 and is the best young artista t the Concorso Giuseppe Di Stefano of Trapani. In the same year debuts in Così Fan Tutte in the role of Despina at the Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa di Savona and in Spoleto in Werther. Begins immeadiatly a brilliant career wich sess her debut as Oscar in Un Ballo In Maschera at the theatre La Fenice of Venice and at the Bellini of Catania in the role of Musetta in La Bohéme, Nannetta in Falstaff in Lisbon, Lisa in La Sonnambula in in Rome, Messina and Palermo. Among her latest commitments: Violetta in La Traviata and Mimì in La Bohéme at the State Theatre of Ekaterinburg.
